Residents in the Amador-El Dorado Unit of CalFire will need burn permits beginning May 1.

They are free and valid for three years from the date of issuance and allows for the burning of dry vegetation (not household trash) that originates on the landowners property. Permits are available at most of the local staffed fire stations.

The use of burn barrels is no longer legal in Amador or El Dorado counties.

Totally Unbelieveable ! During extremely dry, drought conditions, how can they even think about issuing burn permits ? Even if they can call a non-burn day, this is just STUPID ! And these are the same idiots that have levied the extra fire tax on us ! IDIOTS ! Where is my refund of the fire tax ?

Yeah and it’s like others have said- these are people who didn’t do their work before the drought conditions and are scrambling to get some safe-space around their property. Too late.
