Kyburz Fire fully contained

The Kyburz Fire was completely contained Thursday, a day sooner than originally expected.

U.S. Forest Service personnel repeatedly changed the number of acres that were burned. The latest total is 572 acres.

The blaze began Monday afternoon when a vehicle on Highway 50 lost a wheel and that sparked the fire.

The fire took out a shed and an outhouse in the Eldorado National Forest.

Totally off the subject here, but did anyone hear an “explosion” around 3am this morning?? Just wondering…now back to the subject–Thanks to all of the hardworking Fire crews that knocked the Kyburz Fire out so quickly!! They are amazing and deserve our utmost respect!! ThankyouThankyou!!! ;)
