·      The deadline to sign up for the Tahoe Tennis Classic is July 23. More info is available online.

·      The annual Lake Tahoe Environmental Summit is Aug. 22 from 10am-noon at Valhalla. It’s free, but people are asked to register.

·      Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has added two K9s to its ranks. Beny is from Slovakia and is a 1-year-old German shepherd. His partner is Deputy Adam Windsor. Bane is a 1-year-old German shepherd whose handler is Deputy Luke O’Sullivan.

·      According to a Pew Research Center survey, 53 percent of millennials went to a public library or bookmobile in the last year. It makes since because this is the generation that shares. Millennials out of all generations are the most likely to use a library, at least in the U.S.
