Well-known Carson Valley veterinarian Lance Gorrindo was under investigation for sex crimes with a minor before he committed suicide on Monday.

“At the time of Lance Gorrindo’s death he was the sole suspect being sought by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in connection to an active lewdness with a minor investigation. The identity of the victim is confidential by law and not subject to disclosure,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement April 8.

Gorrindo worked at Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital in Minden, where he had a number of Lake Tahoe clients.

The 39-year-old graduated from Douglas High School in 1995.
