TK Marina-TRPA reach settlement over illegal parking lot

image_pdfimage_print

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Governing Board at its Oct. 28 meeting is expected to levy a $7,500 fine against the owners of the Tahoe Keys Marina for unauthorized grading and construction of a temporary parking area.

The marina was doing so to create more parking for a boat show.

The South Lake Tahoe marina began creating the lot in July 2014 without a permit or permission from the California Tahoe Conservancy, which owns the land.

The marina owns the paved area. The Conservancy owns the dirt area. A fence separates the two.

$7500?! Not even a deterrent. Just the cost of doing business.

Getting off easy. The shady people who own the marina must have done some bribing to make this go away so cheep and easy.

Shouldn’t the crook have to restore that land back to what it was before they ILLEGALLY encroached on it? What say yee TRPA? I guess you’re too busy authorizing chemicals to be put into the water there. “Do as we say, not as we do” is written all over this.
We don’t patronize ANYTHING on that property and have steered dozens of people away from that dive and crooked resort.

A light spanking like this will certainly curb TKM’s illegal behavior, and serve as a strong deterrent to others, in the future.

    What a joke.

Once again they get away with what ever they want to. The trpa goes after John Q Public for much less but when it comes to the Tahoe Keys Marina they look the other way.

Am I dreaming or is this article missing the names of the TK marina owners. One of them is a member of the esteemed city council, right? When this happened everyone knew it’d be a slap on the hand and it is.
After all it’s who you know or something like that.

Donna and Robert Krilich own the marina. No one from the City Council is involved in the marina.

Slightly changing a small piece of scrub dirt deserves the highest of penalties. Maybe take the owners first born or chop off a couple of fingers. Nay, that’s to easy. I say the ultimate penalty would be to make the owners attend a SLT council meeting and stay through the whole meeting.

    Thanks! My mistake.
