SoCal woman dies in Highway 50 accident
A Southern California woman died in a single-vehicle accident near Glenbrook on June 3.
Darlene M. Hall, 75, of Skyforest was pronounced dead at the scene of the 8:35am accident on Highway 50. She was wearing her seat belt.
One of the two dogs in the vehicle also died. The other was taken to a veterinarian with serious injuries.
Hall was traveling west in a 2009 GMC Yukon when the vehicle went off the north paved shoulder and down a dirt slope. The vehicle struck several large rocks and boulders head on. The vehicle came to rest upright on its wheels.
Neither alcohol nor drugs is suspected as a factor in the cause of the incident. However, Nevada Highway Patrol troopers do not know what caused Hall to drive off the pavement.
Anyone who may have information related to this incident is asked to contact Trooper Chris Austin at 775.684.7381 or caustin@dps.state.nv.us.

Two strong possibilities here. She lost control avoiding an animal in the roadway such as a bear or deer, or one (or both) of the two unrestrained dogs in the vehicle distracted her.
I am the daughter if the deceased and its more than avoiding the animal..
This poor woman may have had a medical emergency that caused her to go off the road. May she rest in peace, and I hope the dog that lived will be okay.
Sandra, you have my sincere condolences.
I am afraid the second dog did not make it! Evidence showed something did happen we just have to wait for the results. Thank you from our family for the kind thoughts.

Sandra, another shares in your sorrow- sorry for the loss of your mother and pet. Accidents do happen with sometimes fatal outcomes
I also send condolences. Just remember over the next few months to be kind to yourself. It is a tough process and if you are absent-minded, forget events of conversations, grieve at unexpected times or snap at those you love, forgive yourself and know it is all a part of the process. My thoughts are with you.
