A man attempting to cross Ski Run Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe was killed Friday night.

The name of the 44-year-old victim is not being released pending notification of family.

A South Lake Tahoe police officer told Lake Tahoe News the Stateline resident was walking from between two parked cars near Larch Avenue into the traffic lane on Feb. 13 about 6:30pm when a vehicle hit him. The driver of the vehicle does not appear to have been intoxicated nor was foul play involved.

I was hit at the same location 10 years ago and airlifted to Reno. I was very lucky to have LA paramedics behind the truck that hit me and the people of Scusa to assist me until the ambulance arrived. I spend five days in ICU with multiples injuries. I am very very lucky to be alive. The City of South Lake Tahoe did not cite the man who hit me. I am hopeful that with this accident a light will be put in at the intersection of Ski Run and Larch. My heart goes out to his family.

Damn. Really close to where the drunk pedestrian walked out in front of the drunk driver several years ago and was killed. RIP.

Damn. Really close to where the drunk pedestrian walked out in front of the drunk driver several years ago and was killed. RIP. Drive and walk near traffic safe and sober. Though it appears that the driver was sober and unknown at this time on the ped.

35 miles per hour on that stretch of ski run is way too fast. It needs to change.

Pedestrians are all to cavalier. I see it everyday as people walk across streets whether in crosswalks or not. They look straight ahead or at their smart phones. Head should be on a swivel.
Almost like they have the invisible shield protecting them.
A sad loss of human life.

the man that was killed was not drunk, he was a bit careless. he stepped out into the street from between 2 parked cars. and that driver was going a wee bit over the speed limit, not by much so said. it was a horrible accident
