Woman killed leaving El Dorado County bar

EL DORADO HILLS — A woman was fatally shot by a 41-year-old suspect as she and another woman were leaving a bar in El Dorado Hills about midnight, authorities said.
The two women were approached by the suspect — identified by the California Highway Patrol as Anderson Swift of Oakland — in the parking lot of 36 Handles off White Rock Road.
When Swift encountered the women, he demanded money, officers said.
“They left right about closing time when they were approached by a man with a gun who demanded keys and money,” said Lt. Tom Murdoch with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department. “The two ladies turned back around and ran back to the bar when the man with the gun shot and killed one of the ladies.”
The other woman was not injured, authorities said.
This is a shocking violent senseless crime and where this debris and murderer is from and what he is doing here and his criminal history will be the question. I hope Senile Jerry someday while sitting in his gold plated wheelchair has a clue about what is going on in the real world and what he has unleashed by not taking criminals seriously and loosening sentencing laws and not keeping them where they should be. This senseless violent crime is a good example of the predators out there.
This sub human needs to be culled from humanity at once!! Too bad the ladies weren’t able to snuff this insect out with a few swift bullets into his face.
The senile old goat Moonbutt better think about what he has unleashed and the Judge that ordered it. I hope they become victims. Maybe that might open their liberal minds to the REALITY of what THEY created. Oakland is a toilet and we have NO NEED for those locals to come here.

I question how this is Brown’s fault(seriously), and I question how you intend to stop locals from other places from ‘coming here’…unless juu sink vee must have peeple show their paperzz at checkpoints…is that your suggestion….’comrade’?

Be aware of your surroundjngs all the time and just give the dude your money. Unfortunately some people are just evil and unless you are armed, competant, and aware you are dead. Sorry nature but i highly doubt it was a legal gun and any cop will tell you that the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. It may be a small point, but I don’t think that anyone should be in a bar carrying a weapon. Regardless of “good guys with guns” arguments, folks who are drinking alcohol probably shouldn’t be armed. The only place that alcohol and guns should meet is at the ATF, IMHO. My prayers for this woman’s friends and family.

In their situation you are right dumbfounded. I believe in henderson county, nv if you are legal to drive yourl are legal to carry. That said carring probably wouldnt have helped. Be aware of your surroundings and maybe get an escort from peole at the bar. Sucks evil people exist but live with your head up not looking at the ground or your phone.
dumbfounded: The law prohibits legally carrying people from carrying when consuming alcohol. Of course this is only limited to “law abiding” citizens.
I have said a few times that all business owners should consider a CCW and all employees handling money deposits and security should be thinking about it and approved after a careful background check and training for a CCW. This murderer was waiting for anyone who had a car to walk out into the parking lot. There are thousands like this out there who are predators with long rap sheets and nothing to lose.

Rhetoric aside, Proposition 36 was passed overwhelmingly by California voters. The Bill allows non-violent prisoners to be released from prison if they meet certain criteria. After 10 months, a study by Stanford University concluded that for every 1 recidivist released under the program, there are 100 who have returned to school, gotten jobs and returned to society. It was passed by the voters. States rights to self-governance, not the whim of a governor. Please try to be accurate in your characterization of a law passed by the electorate. Thank you.
Carson is 100% spot on as usual. The number of people killed with knives will be fairly close to those with guns. A predator will use an edged weapon, or make a deadly weapon like they did in prison or buy or steal one. You can hate any number of tools, if a murderer wants to attack they will use what they have. A person is best protected with a firearm and the training to use it.
Nature: I see your point but most armed robberies are within 6-8ft of the cockroach and innocent victim. Hardly long distance. The puke makes it personal as soon as his pea brain decides it’s a good idea to pick a person to victimize. Too bad the wrong person is dead in this.

Also Realignment was Senile Jerry’s idea to pretend to comply with a court order to reduce over-crowding by building more space or releasing tens of thousands of felons instead. He chose to release them. The violent crime is now exploding across the state. This is putting every person in the state in danger.

Carson, Justice and others. Knives killed about 1,694 people in 2011 while firearms (all) killed 8,583 in criminal acts (not suicides or accidental). That’s an 80% difference killed via firearms for the math challenged.

A review of intimate partner homicides in Chicago over a 29-year period concluded that “an effective prevention strategy for intimate homicide of women … would be to reduce the availability of firearms in the home.”[73]
Take home message, homes with guns result in higher rates of murder of women by their spouse or boyfriend.

Rick, with all due respect, statistics deal with averages. It’s pretty much basic in a free society that citizens live their own lives by their own standards and their own experiences, not by conforming to rules of averages.
I’ve dealt with, perhaps, hundreds of folks who have firearms but lack the skill and, often, the attitude and intelligence, to handle them properly. And, in truth, that ignorance of our younger generations (for some reason, the phrase “soccer moms” comes to mind – not because I have any use for Rush, but because I coached youth soccer for three years) scares me.
Which, in part, to protect ourselves from ignorant gun owners as well as the bad dudes packing guns, is why my wife and I both own firearms and know how to use them. And I taught my kids, now 43 and 46, firearm handling before they were 12.
You might imagine that your statistics should discourage citizens from protecting themselves with guns, but they actually encourage citizens, regardless of the skills they might have, and should have learned as young adolescents, to not only arm themselves, but insist that our society get over its unreasonable fear of guns, and start teaching gun safety and handling to our young. As I learned as an adolescent. Or, at least, I hope that’s what the reasonable among us are saying.
I’m comfortable with my own attitude toward firearms. What frightens me is that I might protect myself and then face some attorney making a living off reciting your collection of statistics. The politicians I can handle – the lawyers and their biased proponents, not so much.
And, by the way, just to confound your biases, I’m a lifelong Democrat, a supporter of our President, and I will likely go to my grave without ever again voting for another Republican screwball.
And I am, as well,a member of the Nevada ACLU, which likewise supports private gun ownership.
