Workshop to focus on basin’s transit needs
Tahoe Regional Planning Agency is hosting a transportation workshop on Nov. 20 at 2:30pm.
The focus is talking about unmet transit needs in the basin.
The meeting will be at TRPA — 128 Market St., Stateline.
People who cannot attend may submit comments to jweber@trpa.org.
2:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday, really? Expect a huge public turnout on that one-NOT!
Ok all you folks in Meyers, and Tahoe Paradise- your voice/comments are critical if you would like to see public transportation in our area. 5 years ago there was a circular from Lira’s to the college to the Transit Center. It was not designed with public input, thus almost zero ridership. Your input DOES matter.
I cant imagine anything that would be a larger waste of money. It would be cheaper to purchase a new car for the two or three people who would use the bus.
We don’t need it or want it! Anytime TRPA is involved, it can’t be with our best interest in mind.

How convenient… I’ll be at work!
Maybe TRPA, like the city, could start streaming their meetings and have them recorded to watch at a more convenient time. Most of us have to work during these scheduled meetings. If possible, they should schedule the meetings when it is convenient for the public, not a few TRPA employees.
How many of us are able to attend the 9am city council meetings?
Shenja, As Dan Stroehler wrote “2:30 on a Thursday afternoon, really?”. This is just a way for the TRPA to say “they held a public meeting about bus service to Meyers but it was sparcely attended and those that spoke were in disapproval of public transportation to Meyers/ Tahoe Paradise.”
So we’ll keep up the faith for public transit to Meyers/Tahoe Paradise! Mabye one day it will become a reality!!!

I contacted the link in the article and wrote my opinion including the oh so convenient day and time for the meeting. I hope all of us who can’t make the meeting will bombard them with e-mails against this idea and waste of our money.

O.k. all you naysayers- the article mentioned that you could e-mail comments also. Obviously the negative comments against service to the Paradise/Meyers area are from well heeled automobile owners.This is a request for input from TTD, not TRPA.Que serra serra
O.K., lets put it this way- would you rather have your teenager take a bus to town for 1 dollar or use your car? let’s factor in the winter time. Again, public comments can be made online. Thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion…
I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one out here( in lonely MEYERS) trying to make a point about this issue.. Believe me .. Most of the time I get neg feedback … I’m trying to utilize this short window of time (roughly two days!!
Sorry didn’t post correct…( continuing on).. To gather my thoughts and present them without YELLING!… Ok can any one help me figure out how many ” year-around ” Meyers residents actually work in South Lake Tahoe?.. Just curious
