California sees third-warmest October

This past month was the third-warmest October in California since officials began keeping records more than a century ago, continuing the state’s pattern in what is likely to be its hottest year ever, according to government climatologists.

The average temperature statewide last month was 64.5 degrees, less than one degree under the all-time record set in 2003, the National Climatic Data Center reported.

    I know that in the Santa Cruz area people are encouraged to tell on their neighbors for watering. GREAT way to bring people together. Run around telling on each other. How progressive.

    Kevin, but who is the expert on just how much is needed for a household or lawn? WHO is judge and jury when defining wasted water. I’m all for conserving but the last thing I want to do is go around tattle-tailing my neighbors. I think that was first grade and I got over that quickly.

    I think that any aware person living in the severe drought conditions that our state is facing will voluntarily conserve. Then again there is the “hate gubmint” faction that don’t want to tolerate any interference with their “god given” right to be an azzhat.
