Motorcyclist hurt, driver accused of DUI

A motorcyclist was seriously injured Monday after being hit by an alleged drunken driver in Truckee.

The collision occurred Oct. 20 at 7:02pm at the intersection of Brockway and Highway 267. Highfield has one prior DUI conviction and is on court probation for DUI.

The name of the 32-year-old Truckee resident riding the motorcycle has not been released. Officers said he suffered serious injuries and was transported to Tahoe Forest Hospital. He is expected to recover from his injuries.
