Flask mittens make winter bearably boozy

Winter is cold, guys. But you know what makes it a little more bearable? Booze. That’s why winter is not only the season of cheer, but also of hard, stiff drinks. The stronger, the better.
Better, that is, if you don’t have to take off your gloves to have a swig from your very own flask, so you don’t get frostbite while trying to get your buzz on. Lucky for all of us, that’s all possible now.
The flask mitten is here to answer all of our winter wishes, and it’s exactly what it sounds like: a flask (that will hold 3 ounces) built inside of a snug red mitten.
It’s designed so that you never, ever have to take your gloves off — the worst part of any winter day.
Three ounces seems small but it will still save you $40.00 + tip at mountain prices. Also the policy of requiring mixer to be added to premium liquor on the mountain is just wrong.
sunriser2. In my early years, we slung a bota bag around our necks as we skiied and the bag was filled with fruit juice. Later in life the juice was replaced with different beverages, if you get my drift!

Did you ever participate in the lodge tour? They would put the names of every bar at Heavenly in a hat. Then pull out the names one at a time. You had to ski to that lodge and have a shot and a beer. It might be the reason they require mixer in the shots on the mountain. Long live the East Peak Social Club.

Years ago, at the end of the season there was always a big party on the deck at the base of Sky chair. I’d pull my biggest trout out of the freezer that I’d caught here, stuff it in my daypack along with a bottle of wine and grill it on the bbq on the deck while basking in the sun, lauhing with friends, new and old.
