trta• On April 22 at 5:30pm Friends of the Library present a Tahoe Rim Trail Association talk with Shannon Skarritt, director of membership and outreach.

• Mike Makley, author of “Saving: Lake Tahoe”, will be the guest speaker at the May 8, 7pm Sierra Club meeting. The free event is at 1195 Rufus Allen Blvd., South Lake Tahoe. Books will be for sale and Makley will be signing them.

• The Tahoe City Public Utility District board at the April 18, 8:30am meeting will discuss changing how at-large members are elected.

• Cinco De Mayo-Palooza is coming to MontBleu in Stateline on May 2-5. It includes live music and food events. For more info, call 800.648.3353.

• Robb Gaffney has resigned as a skiing “ambassador” at Squaw Valley because “as we all know, Squaw is going through significant changes and the driving forces behind these changes have shifted the local climate in a direction that is uncomfortable for me.”
