15 Tahoe-area athletes headed for Sochi
By USSA
PARK CITY — The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association has nominated a record 94 athletes to the 2014 U.S. Olympic Team that will compete in Sochi. Fifteen are from the greater Lake Tahoe area, including Mammoth.

all these atheletes and you could never tell going through town.
John’s right – we need a banner across 50 congratulating our Tahoe area Olympians!! Come on city council do something uniting our community for a change!!’
mrs.t,
I agree a banner celebrating our local athletes over hwy. 50 would be a great way to congratulate our local competitors in Sochi. If not over 50, maybe hung on those big posts by the historical society, museum, senior center… across the highway from the Sno-Flake drive in. Let’s cheer on the athletes from our area!
I will say including Mammoth as part of Tahoe, a bit of a stretch, but on a 750 Norton Commando, dry roads and NO police cars in sight you can make it there in pretty good time, not that I would know anything about that, just sayin’…so I guess Mammoth is part of our region.
Pray for snow, Old Long Skiis
Great Job to all the Athletes mentioned! And some people on this blog still do not think we can build a thriving Year Round Training facility here in Tahoe to compete with Salt Lake City or Lake Placid?
