Gondola between Ridge-Heavenly set to begin running
People riding the new gondola between Ridge Tahoe and Heavenly Mountain Resort can relax a bit. Personnel from the Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District were trained on rescue operations on Friday — just in case an emergency ever arises.
The gondola car, which originally was scheduled to begin operation in December, will be running this week.
Employees with Hilltrac, manufacturers of the people mover, were on hand Jan. 20 to help with the training.
