Ambulances rolling to more calls

Brian Pond, who oversees the ambulance service in El Dorado County in the Lake Tahoe Basin, gave a brief report to the South Lake Tahoe City Council on Nov. 17.

He said in the last year there were 2,555 calls, which is up 4.6 percent from the previous year.

Pond said per county regulations pertaining to how fast an ambulance is supposed to respond to a call, drivers hit the mark 99.42 percent of the time.
