Bona Fide Books will host an art reception for plein air painter Claudia A. Garza on May 1, 6:30-8:30pm at its shop in Meyers. This event is free and open to the public.

Raised in Chicago, Garza is a longtime art lover who began studying with Phyllis Shafer and Dave Russo at Lake Tahoe Community College when she moved to South Lake Tahoe in 2004.

Garza’s landscape collection, “Another Glorious Sierra Day . . . ”— named after the John Muir quote — will be at Bona Fide Books through May.

Bona Fide HQ is located at 1069 Magua St., No. 4, behind the Getaway Café in Meyers.
