A few people in the North Tahoe-Truckee-Reno area were jostled by a minor earthquake Tuesday night.
The 3.7 temblor was recorded at 9:59pm about six miles from Incline Village, according to the UNR Seismological Lab.
South Shore comedian and radio host Howie Nave became Santa Claus over the weekend at the Village Center in South Lake Tahoe for the annual Christmas Cheer Food drive.

“I don’t know how the ‘real’ Santa does it. I was exhausted after five hours, but it was cool seeing the kids light up, especially while walking through Raley’s,” Nave said.
At the Dec. 17 South Tahoe Public Utility District board meeting Dale Rise became president on a 3-2 vote. Mary Lou Mosbacher became vice president with the same vote tally.

Rise had been vice president and Mosbacher president for the last year.

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency will close from Dec. 24 to Jan. 3.
During the closure, TRPA representatives will be on-call in the event of an emergency.
The closure will help the Agency reduce operating expenses. Employees will use a combination of accrued paid time off and paid holidays during the closure.
