The clinic is available to anyone.

Donahoe is a consultant with more than 30 years experience helping individuals and organizations increase their effectiveness. He’s conducted leadership workshops for thousands of employees, supervisors and managers in both the public and private sector both here and abroad, and focused on workplace communications, accountability and maximizing individual strengths.

• Here is the agenda for the Oct. 11 9am El Dorado County Board of Supervisors meeting in South Lake Tahoe.

• Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board has canceled its November meeting. The next meeting is Dec. 6-7 in South Lake Tahoe, with exact location to be determined.

• Maybe the third time is the charm. South Lake Tahoe Mayor Hal Cole’s state of the city address has yet another date and time. Now it’s slated for the beginning of the regular council meeting on Oct. 18 at 9am.

• South Lake Tahoe City Council is having a special closed session meeting Oct. 11 at 9am to discuss labor negotiations. It’s slated for the regular room at Lake Tahoe Airport, but that is also when the county has the room reserved for the supervisors’ meeting.

• Several El Dorado County wineries are offering deals to people who present a Nevada ID from Oct. 28-30 in celebration of Nevada Day.

The community workshop to talk about changes in Tahoe City will be Oct. 17 at 6pm at Granlibakken.

Later this year the North Tahoe Fire Protection District will be moving into a new Tahoe City station located on Fairway Drive. This will leave the existing building, located in downtown Tahoe City at West Commons, vacant.

A group of community members representing various agencies and organizations including the North Lake Tahoe Historical Society, the Tahoe City Downtown Association, the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association, the North Tahoe Fire Protection District, the Tahoe City PUD and Placer County formed the West Commons Steering Committee. This committee commissioned a small study to come up with several alternatives for the site.

This is what the meeting is all about, as well as to find out what the public would like done with the site.

The Tahoe City PUD Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Harvest Festival and Pumpkin Patch is Oct. 22 from 10am-2pm.

This family event is the wrap up to the Tahoe City Downtown Associations yearly Oktoberfest which is the backbone of the fall celebration in Tahoe City.

Although there isn’t much fall harvesting in the basin besides pine needles and firewood, Tahoe City likes to participate in a tradition that takes place worldwide.

The Harvest Festival and Pumpkin Patch is going into its fourth year at Rideout Community Center. Back for the second year is the “Pumpkin Seed.”

• Bread & Broth received a check for more than $4,000 from Hard Rock Cafe Lake Tahoe staff from the 40 Days that Rock fundraiser. Food collected was distributed between Bread & Broth, Backdoor Pantry, and Christmas Cheer.

The Nevada Division of Forestry will be conducting prescribed burns at Tunnel Creek in the Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park backcountry during October and November, weather permitting.

The Tunnel Creek road from Highway 28 to Tunnel Creek Station may be closed in order to conduct the burns. Signs will be posted throughout the area when burns are being conducted.

Nearly 100 acres will be treated in 15 phases.

The burns are part of ongoing fuels treatment and forest restoration efforts in the Lake Tahoe area.

The Tunnel Creek burns are being conducted by the Nevada Division of Forestry in cooperation with the Division of State Parks, Division of State Lands and the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District.

It only takes four days to celebrate statehood in Nevada. The annual Carson City Nevada Day events will observe the 147th year since joining the union, with the theme, “Nevada’s Great Outdoors,” Oct. 27-30.

At any given moment on parade day along Carson Street, visitors will see the best of the state’s high school marching bands intermingled with hundreds of horses, led by boot-clad men with Old West chaps, flowing beards and a turn-of-the-century spirit. The ladies of the Wild West are clad in garb that range from Victorian conservative to saloon risqué. Food fare around Carson City is authentically cowboy, with cast-iron pots brimming with bean, bacon, chili and stew concoctions, cornbread and plenty of brews and sarsaparillas to wash it all down.

The parade is Oct. 29 from 10am-1pm.

With fall returning to Tahoe, Caltrans construction projects are resuming as well.

Caltrans has issued an alert warning drivers Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe can expect delays with lane closures in both directions between Trout Creek Bridge and Fremont Avenue. This work will be done from Oct. 7 at 7am through Oct. 8 at 7pm.

Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls on Highway 267 from Mount Watson Boulevard to Northstar Boulevard on Oct. 7-8 from 7am-7pm.

South Lake Tahoe police explorers brought home eight trophies from the Central Coast Law Enforcement Explorer Competition in Paso Robles.

The explorer team of Joey Acker, Jose Silva,Allison Roberts, Hector Vasquez and Chelsie Tate last month competed in 15 events against approximately 600 explorers from all over California, Arizona and Nevada.
