·      Lake Tahoe Community College’s Intensive Spanish Summer Institute kicks off July 31 with a special appearance from Selene Barceló, consul for community affairs at the Consulate General of Mexico in Sacramento. She will take part in the opening session at 7:45am in the plaza located in front of the library. She will then make a presentation in Spanish at 9am in Duke Theatre. At 10am, she’ll make the same presentation in English.

Steve Wozniak, the tech titan who helped launched the PC revolution with the first Apple computer, will headline the Siebens-Binz Sierra Nevada College Forum on Sept. 23.

This interview-style discussion will take place at the college’s Incline Village campus on the Patterson Lawn at 2pm.

Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce is putting on a workshop for businesses thinking about incorporating.

Attendees will be told about the benefits of being an incorporated business and how incorporating can protect  assets and take a business to the next level.

The workshop is Aug. 16 from noon-1:30pm at the chamber office in Stateline.

The 13th annual Skate the Lake fundraiser returns to the North Shore on Saturday.

This Boarding for Breast Cancer event raises money for cancer prevention and survivor programs.

Cyclists and skaters will start at Sugar Pine Point State Park and finish at Squaw Valley – a 28-mile trek. The July 29 event is from 8:30am-2pm. Participants will be shuttled to the starting point.

Volunteers already distributes food every Wednesday at St. Theresa Grace Hall from 9am-12:30pm.

The program provides free food to children up to the age of 18. Youth pick and choose their favorite breakfast foods, fruits, snacks and dinner foods from what is available.
