There will be a free e-waste recycling event in South Lake Tahoe on April 28-29.

The collection site will be at South Tahoe Middle School, located at 2940 Lake Tahoe Blvd., between 9am-3pm.

Items accepted include: audio/visual equipment, back-up batteries, car batteries, cell phones with or without battery, computer components, copiers, digital cameras, and more.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a one-hour introductory presentation about the Crime Free Multi-Housing Program on April 24 at 1pm.

This free training is being offered to all local California and Nevada multi-family housing,

Tahoe Regional Young Professionals is keeping the spring season hopping with a post-Easter egg hunt and mixer at Lakeside Beach Grill, April 19 from 6–9pm.

TRYP will hide 60 or more eggs with candy and/or prizes for an array of dining and South Lake Tahoe activities. There will be one golden egg that will include an egg-tra special prize. The hunt will begin promptly at 7pm.

Heavenly ski patrol is hosting its 13th annual fundraiser on the top tier of the Heavenly Village parking garage on April 14 from 4:30 to 8:30pm.

Three live bands, season’s pass raffle, and silent auction are part of the fun.

Cover charge is $10 and all proceeds go to local charities

Meyers Roundtable is having a meeting April 18 from 6-8pm at the Lake Valley fire station on Highway 89.

Meeting agenda includes:

• Presentation of Road Runner Canopy project.

• Government reports, including a report on the Meyers Community Plan update.

• Public forum – discussions are to be no longer than five minutes per issue due to time constraints.

• The late singer John Denver was well known in the ski industry, with his celebrity ski classic a legend at Heavenly Mountain Resort. Denver has been nominated for induction into the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Museum Hall of Fame.

• Mammoth Mountain will be open daily for skiing through Memorial Day weekend.

• Truckee is probably changing its meetings to the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month. The second reading of the ordinance will take place at the April 19 town council meeting.

• South Tahoe High Band & Orchestra students will perform for free April 18 at 7pm in the Tahoe Arts & Design Academy Theatre.
