The Truckee-Donner Recreation & Park District is considering developing a nearly 300-seat professional quality theater near the Truckee Community Center with a price tag between $7 million and $12 million.
The recreation board is looking for input for residents and second homeowners.

A free meditation will be conducted May 28 from 6-7pm at Tahoe Wellness Center in South Lake Tahoe.
The class starts with learning simple relaxation exercises for the head, neck and shoulders. Meditation will focus on compassion.

Lake Tahoe is the No. 3 Gas Tank Getaway, according to TripAdvisor.
The travel website says Monterey is the No. 1 spot where people will drive to during Memorial Day weekend.
Other locations in the top five are Calistoga, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz.
TripAdvisor’s survey says 34 percent of U.S. respondents plan to travel Memorial Day weekend, up from 26 percent in 2011. Most will do so by vehicle — 70 percent.

Lake Tahoe Community College’s annual student art exhibit opens Sunday. There will be a reception from 2-5pm in the commons area.
More than 500 pieces will be on display starting May 20.
The free exhibit will be on display through June 16.
