Livestrong, the celebrity golf tournament’s nationally designated charity, in partnership with the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority, NBC Sports and American Century Investments is continuing that effort.

In response to the public’s vision for more liveable, walkable and bikeable communities in the Tahoe basin, two panel discussions have been scheduled for July 25-26 by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency.

Guest experts from Park City and Portland will join local experts in transportation and community planning for a series of educational discussions on the challenges and solutions to creating safer, more pedestrian and bicycle-friendly town centers.

Guest speakers are Myles Rademan, a planning expert from Park City, and Michael Ronkin, bicycle and pedestrian program manager for the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Ronkin and Rademan will also present to the TRPA Governing Board July 25 in Stateline at 9:30am.

The first panel discussion is July 25, 5-8pm, North Tahoe Event Center, 8318 North Lake Blvd., Kings Beach. The next is July 26, 5-8pm, Lake Tahoe Community College Board Room, 1 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe.

The South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge will be hosting a fundraiser for Tahoe Arts Project on July 25 from 5-8pm at 961 Eloise Ave. in South Lake Tahoe.

This outdoor event features Trey Stone Band and will include a silent auction and raffle.

Burgers, hot dogs, sodas, baked goods, popcorn and ice cream cones will all be available for sale. There will also be a cash bar.

Admission is $10, and kids with and adult are free. This is a family friendly event.

Tahoe Arts Project is a nonprofit organization that brings professional performing arts into the schools and community of South Lake Tahoe. All proceeds from this event benefit Tahoe Arts Project.

The Lake Tahoe conservation community is having a free question and answer session to inform the public about the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency’s Regional Plan update.

The Q&A session will be July 24 from 5:30-7:30pm at the Kings Beach Events Center, 8318 North Lake Blvd., Kings Beach.

“Find out what the TRPA is not telling you about the Regional Plan update” is how organizers are describing the event.

Lake Tahoe’s Shining Stars is having a fundraising car wash on July 22 from 10am to 3:30pm at Tahoe Quik Lube at 2513 Lake Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe.

Donations will be accepted to help the nonprofit’s outreach program.

The outreach program provides opportunities for children in the community to participate in dance and performing arts classes and performances.
