There will be a community workshop March 31 to discuss ideas for South Lake Tahoe’s proposed renovations of the Recreation Swim Complex.
It is an opportunity for the community to help the city develop ideas for the design of renovations of the complex.
The meeting will be from 5:30-8:30pm at the rec center, 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd.

The 2016-17 El Dorado County Grand Jury is looking for members.
Applicants must be Untied States citizens, at least 18, have resided in the county for at least one year at the time of the swearing-in date, and cannot be an elected official.
The fudges of the Superior Court select names from those submitted, as well as other nominees and currently seated grand jurors who may be held over to be put into the jury pool. Nineteen jurors are then selected in a random drawing from this pool. Final selection will take place in late June.
Jurors serve from July1-June 30. A required training session provided by the California Grand Jurors Association will take place June 30 and July 1 in Placerville.
The El Dorado County Grand Jury is an investigatory body created for the benefit of county citizens by providing oversight to the proper and legal operation of public entities.
Meetings are compensated at the maximum rate of $15 per day. Mileage is compensated at the rate payable to employees of El Dorado County.

People convicted of misdemeanors or felonies in El Dorado County more than one year ago that resulted in jail time, alternative sentencing, or probation may be eligible to clean up their criminal record.

· There will be community soup nights on March 23 at Red Truck at the Truckee Tahoe Airport and April 6 at Fifty Fifty Brewing in Truckee. Cost is $5 and run 6-7:30pm. Soup night brings a savory and affordably priced meal made from local, sustainably grown ingredients to the community. This is a collaboration between Slow Food Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Food Hub.
How-to-City: A Property Owner’s Guide to South Lake Tahoe and TRPA is the topic of a March 16 talk.
It will be an overview of new and improved processes in city and Tahoe Regional Planning Agency code that help homeowners make changes to their homes and properties. City and TRPA staff will talk about recent changes to streamline permitting, changes to the vacation home rental ordinance, the application process, and how area plans and a new look at development regulations are simplifying the process for homeowners.
The free talk will be in Creekside Room at Lake Tahoe Community College from noon-1:30pm.

· TRYP will host a professional development workshop titled The Importance of Professional Marketing Materials on March 21 from 6-7pm at Lake Tahoe School, 995 Tahoe Blvd., Incline Village. The workshop is free for members, $5 for non-members.
· Highly celebrated young Davidson Fellow Laureate, Ray Ushikubo performs with the Reno Philharmonic during the Classix Five concert March 20 and March 22 at the Pioneer Center for Performing Arts in Reno. Also featured is the Youth Symphony Orchestra. Tickets are available online.
· Kids & Horses Therapeutic Riding Center in Minden has hired physical therapist Erin Vaillancourt and occupational therapist Amy Schelert. The center works with individuals of all ages facing range of challenges including paralysis, multiple sclerosis, autism, muscular dystrophy, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, learning disabilities, and stroke.
· The Lakeview Loft above Dart Liquor in Stateline is closing mid-month and being renovated to be a restaurant called Sonney’s BBQ at Stateline.

· Barton Urology services are now available in Incline Village — 925 Lake Tahoe Blvd, Suite 105. Bradley Anderson is the only full time urologist in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
Tahoe XC Ski Area, Tahoe City Winter Sports Park, Zia Lina and Tahoe Art Haus Cinema are teaming up to bring for an afternoon of skiing, dinner and a movie.
The March 13event starts off with skiing (2:30-4:45pm) at the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park; includes free XC ski trail pass and/or sledding pass with saucer. Sports Park activities include challenge stations and games to complete while traveling along the 3K trail on snowshoes or XC skis. Then ski over to dinner at Zia Lina, which includes soup/salad or pizza/pasta for adults; one course for kids (first seating at 5pm, second seating 7:30pm). This is followed by a screening of the new ski jump movie “Eddie the Eagle” at the Art Haus (first screening 5pm, second screening 7:30pm).
It’s possible to opt for movie first and then dinner.

· TRYP is having a mixer March 9 from 6-9pm at Chimayo Street Grill, 1142 Ski Run Blvd, South Lake Tahoe and one March 15 from 5:30-8pm at Tahoe Biltmore in Crystal Bay. One free drink and complimentary appetizers for attendees. Attendance is free for members and $10 for non-members.
· Moms’ Morning Out is April 30 from 8am-noon. It will be a morning of pampering, fitness and wellness with Barton Health. Women of all ages – not just moms – may attend. Yoga class starts at 8am. Other complimentary activities start at 9am and include brunch, wellness booths by local businesses, health presentations, and pampering. It is free in the commons area at Lake Tahoe Community College.
