· Windjammers Yacht Club’s annual Chowder Feed and Membership Drive is April 16 at 6pm in the clubhouse above the harbormaster’s office in the Tahoe Keys Marina in South Lake Tahoe. Cost is $15. Social hour begins at 6pm, with dinner at 7pm. RSVP by April 13 to vicecommodorewyc@gmail.com.
· Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is reviving the mounted horse unit.
· Golf for Kids Day benefits Boys & Girls Club North Lake Tahoe. The event is all day May 15, with a scramble at 1pm for an extra $10. It is at the Old Brockway Golf Course in Kings Beach. For more info and to sign up, call 530.546.9909.
· Toastmasters International provides a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. The South Shore group meets every second and fourth Monday in the South Tahoe PUD boardroom at 6:30pm.
· Bob Derlet is the Democratic candidate for the 4th Congressional District. He is running against incumbent Tom McClintock. He is putting on a town hall meeting April 21 at 6pm at Lake Tahoe Community College. LTCC Ecology Club, Tahoe Citizens Climate Coalition and Tahoe Area Sierra Club are sponsoring this event.
· The 33rd annual Snow Golf Tournament at Alpine Meadows is April 16. Tee off at 9am. The nine-hole course starts at the top of Summit Express Chair, with the last hole leaving golfers at the base of Alpine Bowl Chair.
· The 29th annual Booster Club Golf Tournament is May 7-8 at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. All proceeds benefit the athletes at South Tahoe and Whittell high schools.
