KidZone Museum is hosting an après ski fundraising event called “Bump ‘n Jump Ski Party” on March 12 from 7-11pm for adults only.

It will be at the Truckee Airport Hangar. The party will include live music, dancing, a costume contest, Wii games, and auction.

Tickets can be purchased online.

This 10th annual spring fundraising event supports the KidZone Museum’s Mission to inspire learning through creative play and discovery.

Hollywood Improv takes stage April 9 at MontBleu in Stateline. It’s a night to support academics.

Event attendees can plan on comedy improv entertainment, a wine wall, silent and live auctions, drinks, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dancing, celebrity spoofing and more. Tickets start at $60 and guests can purchase an ‘A’ list table or VIP ticket online.

The event that starts at 6p is the Nevada Lake Schools’ biggest fundraiser.

Last year’s event raised almost $40,000 that was spent on laptops, athletic equipment, language software, library and audio books, printers, hard drives, engineering books, cultural arts assemblies,

science fair support, art supplies, culinary supplies and more.

Lake Tahoe Unified School District’s Instrumental Music Program presents “Bands In Concert” on March 9 at 7pm in

the South Tahoe Middle School multipurpose room.

The program will feature 200 music students in grades 6-12.

It is free.

Join the Tahoe Twins baseball team for a fundraiser at the North Tahoe Event Center on March 19 from 7:30-11:30pm.

The Tahoe Twins and the North Tahoe Public Utility District’s Friends of the Park Fund will benefit with all proceeds going to make improvements at the North Tahoe Regional Park’s Ballfield 5, the home field of the Twins. Raffle tickets will be available for $1 each for six for $5 at the event. A beer garden will also be available.

Remley is a five-member band with a versatile style that mixes classic rock sounds with today’s hot rock grooves.

The Tahoe Twins are a semi-pro baseball team in the National Adult Baseball Association League. The Twins play in North Lake Tahoe and Reno. Their season runs from May-September. Approximately 18 home games will be played at the North Tahoe Regional Park this summer and there is no charge to watch the games. They are the reigning NABA World Series Champions and with a record of 52-18.

Soroptimist of International of South Lake Tahoe’s annual wine tasting at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe in Stateline is Nov. 11 at 6pm.

As part of the Harrah’s and Heavenly “Winter Snow Blast” weekends, the Sun Kings will be in town March 18 at 7:30pm.

This show is free to Heavenly same-day lift ticket holders; Heavenly season pass holders; and Harrah’s, Harveys and Heavenly employees. All others pay $15 per ticket.

The Sun Kings eschew the usual haircuts, costumes and on-stage manner of Beatles “tribute” bands and just play the heck out of some of the best popular and rock music ever written.

The 2011 Tahoe Truckee Earth Day Festival is slated for April 23 from 11am to 5pm at the Village at Squaw Valley.

This all-ages, community sponsored event gives participants an opportunity to learn about recycling/composting, alternative energy, sustainability, watershed and forest health, and reducing ecological footprints via a diverse array of agency representatives and earth-friendly vendors. It is the largest eco-event in the North Lake Tahoe/Truckee area. More than 6,000 people attended in 2010.

Live music, kids’ activities and fun for everyone help to make this the largest environmental event in the Lake Tahoe area.
