The 5th annual Tour of Carson City Bike Ride & BBQ is May 6 starting at 9:30am.
The route tours around the perimeter of Carson City for a moderately paced 27 to 30 mile bike ride.
Lunch will be provided and all are welcome.
This is a free event. Donations are being accepted to support Muscle Powered of Carson City, which promotes a more bike friendly community.

Alpine Meadows’ annual Snow Golf Tournament will tee off April 21 at 9am at the top of the mountain off the Summit Express chairlift.
This event features the only mountaintop snow golf course around. It’s skiing or snowboarding combined with golf.
The nine-hole course starts at the top of the Summit Express chairlift off of Sunspot and weaves its way down the mountain to the bottom of Alpine Bowl chair. Players are provided scorecards, pencils, clubs and tennis balls. All competitors must be wearing skis or a snowboard to navigate from hole to hole, but are allowed to remove one foot to drive, chip and putt.
Registration starts at 9am at the top of the Summit Express chair and is free (with a lift ticket or season pass).
Lake Tahoe Windjammers is having a Getting to Know You Pasta Feed on April 28 at 6pm.
The event is at the Yacht Club Room in Tahoe Keys Marina in South Lake Tahoe.
The vice commodore is making pasta, but guests are asked to bring an appetizer, salad or dessert.

The El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce Education Council’s annual Wine Tasting/Art Auction is May 4.
Ten Thomas Kinkade framed prints, along with artwork from other area artists, will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
David Girard Vineyard will be the site of the event. Tickets are $10 for the event that starts at 6pm.
Many artists who have participated in the past will be participating again. This is an opportunity to not only raise money for the Al Aguiar Memorial Scholarship to support the continuing education of El Dorado County residents, but the Wine Tasting/Art Auction also gives exposure to El Dorado County artists.
The Al Aguiar Memorial Scholarship enables employers in El Dorado County to assist their employees to increase their education and knowledge by allowing the employee to be trained while working, thus benefiting the employer as well.

The Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus is celebrating its 10th year with two concerts.
The first is April 21 at 7pm and the second is April 22 at 2pm. Both are at the Resort at Squaw Creek.
Tickets are $15 for adults. Children are free.
The program will include highlights of past concerts and includes a wide variety of styles: Broadway, light opera, pop, gospel, classical, and contemporary music.
The Diablo Valley Philharmonic Orchestra will accompany the chorus.
The 4th annual Carson Valley Days Grass Volleyball Tournament is June 10 at Lampe Park in Gardnerville.
Adults play 4 on 4, youth (under 18) play 6 on 6. Adult categories are Open, Coed, or Women; youth are grouped by school grades.
There is a guarantee of three matches in pool play, plus elimination playoff in each division. Some divisions may be combined to maintain competitive numbers.
Cost is $15 per adult team member; $5 per youth team member.

The Spring Mixer Tennis Tournament in Carson City is May 20.
This is more of a social event to meet and play tennis with people you may not know. People will be paired with different players to play doubles all day.
All ages are welcome. Entry fee is $10.

The Eric Nageotte-Lowe Memorial Fundraiser benefiting the Heavenly Freestyle Team is April 14 from 6-10pm at Mo’s Place in South Lake Tahoe.
Everyone is invited to hear live music by the Cash Only Band, buy a raffle ticket, eat, and meet and mingle with Heavenly freestyle team members, alumni, and coaches.

Eric Nageotte-Lowe was an aspiring freestyle skier with dreams of making the U.S. Ski Team. He died training in New Zealand in 2004.
A progressive dinner along Ski Run Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe will combine local storytellers with local cuisine.
The April 28 event is a collaboration of Lake Tahoe Leadership and Lake Tahoe Historical Society to raise funds for the Friends of the El Dorado County Library. Dinner guests will start at Black Bear Inn for hors d’ oeuvres, stroll to Nepheles for a salad course, then to Blue Angel Café Loft for the entrée and finally shuttle or walk — depending on weather — to the Riva Grill for dessert.
Although the public library normally hosts children’s storytelling, this event is adults-only and dinner guests should be prepared for possibly bawdy tales and bring their drinking and walking shoes.
Tickets are $65. The first seating will begin at 5:30pm at the Black Bear Inn and is expected to wind up at the Riva Grill in time for sunset at 7:45pm. A parking shuttle will depart Ski Run Marina 10 minutes before each seating.

Lake Tahoe Historical Society will present “An evening with the Washo” on April 10 at 6pm.
This free program will be at Camp Richardson Resort in the Great Room.
Speakers will include Darrell Cruz, tribal historic preservation officer; Jo Ann Nevers, author of “Wa She Shu: A Washo Tribal History”; and Melba Rakow. Both women sit on the Tribal Advisory Council.
The presentation will feature the history of the Washo at Lake Tahoe and in the Carson Valley. During the evening they will discuss ongoing Washo events. Opportunities for questions will follow the presentation.
