IHOP’s Scary Face Pancake Giveaway returns to participating IHOP restaurants nationwide Oct. 28.
Kids 12 and under may design and dine on their own Free Scary Face Pancake creations from 7am to 10pm.
The pre-Halloween giveaway launched last year as a playful take on IHOP’s popular Funny Face Pancake. The Scary Face Pancake is an oversized signature buttermilk pancake with a whipped topping mouth and strawberry nose, and two mini Oreo cookies and candy corn on the side to allow kids to create their Halloween hotcake.
The Scary Face Pancake will also be available for purchase throughout October.
Tahoe Arts Project is having an evening of music on the beach on Aug. 4 from 7-9pm.
Lakeshore Lodge and Spa in South Lake Tahoe is hosting this benefit for Tahoe Arts Project that will feature the music of Niall McGuiness, Trey Stone and Rocky Sleight. Bring blankets and low back chairs, but no pets.
Hot dogs, sodas and baked goods will be available for sale. A suggested donation of $10 per person will support Tahoe Arts Project’s mission of bringing professional performing arts into the schools and community of South Lake Tahoe.

The North Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce’s Business Mixer is in Incline Village Aug. 4, 5-7pm, at 250 Village Blvd.
The mixer is hosted by businesses that occupy the 250 Village Blvd. building, including Simonian Flooring, Bradley Electrical Plumbing & Heating, James Costalupes Construction and Incline Tahoe Class.
Attendees can dance to live music of Under the Radar, enjoy a barbecue and free wine tasting with Incline Spirits, as well as take part in a raffle.

The Perseids meteor shower comes every year beginning in late July and stretching into August. On Aug. 12, camp under the stars and watch the night sky light up at Squaw Valley High Camp.
On this night, sky watchers can witness colorful fireballs, occasional outbursts and long hours of gracefully streaking meteors.
Perseid Meteor Shower campers can upload the Cable Car between 5-6:30pm. Upon arriving at High Camp, guests have the option of starting off the evening with a self-led sunset hike around Squaw Valley’s upper mountain peaks or eating dinner at the resort’s mountaintop café (not included in price). Following, there will be an informational briefing on telescopes as well as campfire activities, with meteor shower viewing beginning at 10pm. In the morning is a continental breakfast from 7:30-8:30am before downloading the Cable Car.
