Joni Morris conjures the sounds of legendary women of country music. Tonight’s performance pays tribute to Patsy Cline.

Morris plays Aug. 25 at 7:30pm at the Boathouse Theatre on the South Shore.

Men of Worth, James Keigher (Ireland) and Donnie Macdonald (Scotland), blend their voices with harmony and support their collection of songs with their varied selection of instruments. They have a simple approach to their presentation, and in keeping with tradition, remain true to the Gaelic/Celtic music and stories. Their show is a unique combination of humor, exciting tunes, and soulful, heartfelt ballads.

They will be at the Boathouse Theatre on the South Shore on Aug. 18 at 7:30pm.

A contemporary sound is emanating from the musical venues surrounding Lake Tahoe through the saxophone of Niall McGuinness and his New World Jazz Project. Soul, Latin, and Afro-jazz music is being played straight ahead and right down the middle, creating a fresh voice on the scene. With an affinity for world music, the New World Jazz Project endeavors to keep the spirit of creativity alive.

The D.G. Menchetti Young Shakespeare Program is a collaboration between the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival and Nevada Shakespeare Company. It is presented free for kids and their chaperones.

Virtuosic trio—soprano Anna Helwing, classical guitarist Bartlomiej Helwing, and pianist Donna Axton bring the Mediterranean breeze filled with the music of Spain, France, and Italy by such composers Torroba, DeFalla, Chopin, Debussy, Albeniz, Valderrabano, Villa-Lobos, Gounod, and others to the shores of Lake Tahoe.

Expression and meditation through dance is led by Ann Thennes.

Free Expression Painting classes are designed to help children develop and discover the excitement of painting, and the instinctual urge to play with color and form. Gina Stowell’s Expression Painting sessions share art history and painting techniques followed by a free painting session encouraging creativity and self-expression. Students should wear sunscreen and a hat, and bring a healthy snack. Space is limited. Students should arrive at 9:30 each morning to check in.

The sessions are July 11-15 from 1am-1pm at the Valhalla Grand Lawn of the Tallac Site on the South Shore.

Cost is $150 per child for the week.
