Brown seeks green regulations in historic fourth term

In an inaugural address drawing on his family’s deep roots in California, Gov. Jerry Brown called for expansive new environmental regulations that would protect the state for future generations.
The governor also pledged not to stray from promises he has made to strengthen California’s finances, invest in the $68-billion high-speed rail system and major water infrastructure projects.
“While we have not reached the Promised Land, we have much to be proud of,” Brown told the California Legislature in the Capitol.
Brown’s speech hewed mostly to familiar themes of fiscal restraint and increasing local control over schools and criminal justice. But he announced an ambitious new proposal to reduce carbon emissions for years to come.
I met Jerry Brown in the late sixties when I was involved in San Francisco Bay Area politics. I was not impressed.
Nor was my late Aunt who was both a close friend and a confidant of the Brown family. And tremendously admired his dad, Pat Brown.
But, the LTN screwballs notwithstanding, and as a Nevada resident for almost 20 years (and a South Lake Tahoe resident for about 25 years before that} I’ve come to admire Brown for the way he challenges and takes on the folks who support their own, usually ignorant, political ideologies, and challenges them to face up to real politics as well as simple reality. Which they rarely are able to do.
Politics is about progress. Jerry Brown, like his fellow Jesuit, Francis, is about making progress one step at a time.
I’ve long since left the Catholic Church, as well as the gaggle of supposedly Christian churches, but the intellectualism of the Jesuits has always been admirable, however one feels about some of their premises.
I’m not a huge Jerry Brown admirer, but I’d support him ahead of any of the national and local Republicans that come immediately to mind.

I never knew that Brown has Jesuit roots. I was educated in a Jesuit high school. As an adult non Catholic, non religious person, their teachings are still meaningful in my everyday life. I spent a lot of time around Quakers after high school, and they were even more important. It was a great combo to have as a foundation for a young adult entering this crazy world.
Yeah, lets keep taxing and regulating us citizens while giving money and better service to illegal aliens and crony buddies on both sides. Fish breath should go for a long ride in coppers vw bus back to the sixties. Love how tolerant you guys are as long as people are like you…hippycrits.
Moonbutt is spending billions on a train to nowhere. There is NO MONEY right now to finish the project. Seems a huge waste of my taxes. A bullet train? It will only go fast in between all the stops it will make along the way. Driving is cheaper and will most likely be faster. Sure brown is moving forward. If you tax the crap out of us there will be money.
Tax and spend liberal is what Senile Jerry has always been and this crazy train is proof beyond a doubt. Combined with a soft on crime disaster of not building new prisons and letting out tens of thousands of career criminals that are causing violent crime explosions across the state while he sits in his gated mansion musing on the dumb downed people who keep voting for him. There is also the 200 billion unfunded pension liability he has yet to address that is real trouble. His stance on no border security and no enforcement of immigration law is the eventual demise of the state as every taxpayer and business that can leave is leaving. The future of the state is it should be divided and the south given to the liberals because the conservative north state wants nothing to do with them.

See the article about the local murder of an innocent woman during an attempted car jacking last night by an Oakland resident from Senile Jerry’s town. Any liberals want to keep releasing career criminals and murderers like Senile Jerry does that end up here BY THE THOUSANDS? Then say what a good job he is doing? He does a great job IF you don’t become a statistic of his doing and encouragement and his ignoring the immigration laws and border security.

This violent crime is the most angering senseless unheard of event in at least a decade. It is confirmed that this was an armed convicted felon from Oakland on a murdering crime spree. This, after the two local deputies were killed by the drug cartel illegal murderer, who is in the jail, combined with a recent home invasion of an elderly couple, should warn everyone to action. The violent crime, aided by Senile Jerry letting the criminals out, is really going up and hitting close to home and people need to prepare for it.
Justice acts like there was no violence prior to the year 2011 and tries to insight fear with his “Ebola crisis” template-ranting points.
FYI. California violent crime fell in 2013 to the lowest rates seen since 1967.
Evidently, Kit keeps looking in the mirror at his “moonbutt” and his “crazy” train talking points did not help Cashkari win.
What ever happened with all of justasses fear mongering related to ebola? Zero people contracted it while in the US, and we had to endure numerous inane comments from justass. We won, and lost.
Cosa, everything with Just@ass is an “Ebola” crisis. He has a clear history of one dimensional rants combined with a classic mental incapacity for non-egocentric thought.
Examples: Just@ass is always ranting about any Hispanic crime article. Yet, when confronted with the rash of mass shootings by a young Caucasians, he shows more empathy for gun owners then the people with their heads blown off.
His height of ignorance are claims that Humans can not control nature. Yet, I would bet he is aware of: domesticated sheep, dam based reservoirs, levees, GMO foods, nuclear weaponry, canis lupus familiaris and more.
I suspect Just@ss has an elevated level of Neanderthal DNA. LOL!
