Young actors needed for ‘The Jungle Book’
Auditions for Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “The Jungle Book” are Jan. 12 at Sierra House Elementary School’s multipurpose room from 4-6pm. Plan to stay for the full two hours.
Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions. Auditions are free. If cast, there is a $50 per child fee to participate in this weeklong theater experience.

Approximately 60 roles are available for local students. All students in K-12 may audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Friday from 4-8:30pm. The performances are scheduled for Jan. 17 at 3pm and 6pm at the South Tahoe High School theater.

I read the Jungle Books as a child – several times, I loved them so much, and having spent several happy years around Montana, although more of them in Great Falls than Missoula, and being a bit of a ham from time to time, I was immediately interested in this casting call. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be much directed toward 73 year old aspiring “young” actors.
Not a problem; if I had been meant to become a great actor, I would have accomplished it by now. All my support and best wishes go out to the young folks performing one of my favorite groups of stories, and, at least in some cases, traveling a long way to do it.
Besides, Missoula’s pretty cold this time of year.
