Mother Nature is bringing snow to the mountains. The rain at lake level the past couple days came down as white stuff higher up.

Snowmaking at Heavenly Mountain Resort is slated to begin Nov. 1 — conditions permitting.

The South Shore resort hopes to open Nov. 20.
