Free physicals for South Shore athletes

Barton Health, Tahoe Center for Orthopedics and Lake Tahoe Unified School District are offering free sports physicals for student athletes.

South Shore students may receive medical and orthopedic screenings on June 1 at the South Tahoe High School blue gym.

The sports physicals start at 5:30pm with the schedule as follows:

• 5:30pm: South Tahoe High and siddle School athletes
• 6pm: Pop Warner athletes
• 6:30pm: Whittell High School athletes

There is no fee.

The physical includes: vital signs, orthopedic evaluations and medical screenings. All students should wear appropriate gym attire.

Before the physical, students must have a medical history form completed and signed by a parent or guardian. Forms may be picked up in each school’s front office or through the student’s Pop Warner football coach.
