RAOK: Offering assistance without being asked
Brenda Knox didn’t wait to be asked to help; she just stepped in to provide that extra hand when a woman needed it.
She was nominated yesterday by someone in Lake Tahoe News’ monthlong Random Acts of Kindness promotion. Her good deed has won her either one day of doggie daycare or one night of home-style boarding at Tahoe Best Friends.
Random Acts of Kindness is about taking a moment to do something nice for someone else. For examples of RAOK, read prior stories and the comments by going to the Random Acts of Kindness category at the top of the page.
To participate, write a Random Act of Kindness you have seen, received or given. Then you will be in the running for a prize given by one of the many kind businesses in Lake Tahoe. While the rewards are great, we are hoping the act of spreading kindness is an even greater reward.
There are a few rules associated with Random Acts of Kindness. If you want to read them, check out this story.
