In 2016, Truckee launched its new slogan, “Base Camp for a Big Life.” While it was chosen to epitomize Truckee’s location as a jumping-off point for mountain experiences, there are a number of local expedition companies that have been making Tahoe/Truckee a hub for adventures in the Sierra Nevada and abroad for decades.
