The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Governing Board on May 24 approved the residential allocation numbers.

They are handed out every two years.

For 2017-18:

  • 20 for Douglas County
  • 60 for El Dorado County
  • 74 for Placer County
  • 66 for South Lake Tahoe
  • 20 for Washoe County.

When the Local Government Committee meets in August, the plan is to continue to discuss the connection between allocations, housing, and vacation home rentals. This was a topic at the committee’s May meeting. Between now and August the city’s commissioned VHR study should be released.
