Letter: Things are brighter

To the community,

Because so many people only write letters and become vocal to complain I am going to write something to thank two people who have helped me out recently.

After calls, letters and some frustration I finally got the right people involved to fix the street light that was out on our street.

First I want to thank Jim Marino at the city of South Lake Tahoe for seeing my letters and taking action to get the issue fixed. I will say it was a bit comforting to see Jim get the same run around that I got. While he didn’t get me any information I already didn’t have it was nice to see a consistent story.

Second I want to thank Kathryn Reed for printing my letters and helping get the attention I needed to get things done. Kae allowed me to use her platform to help not only myself but also my neighbors.

Thanks to both of you for your time and effort.

John Spinola, South Lake Tahoe

Dragnet, in response to your comment the other day.

Did you happen to notice the light was on before or after John Spinola wrote his letter to LTN?

You said that as his neighbor he should look at the light AFTER dark, his (Spinola’s) the light is working.

    Thanks John.

If anyone has a work order request for the City Public Works Department, we encourage you to utilize on our web based portal to submit your requests/concerns.

Please visit the City’s website main page http://www.cityofslt.us

On the right hand side you will see “Service Order Request” Click on that item, fill out the form, and your request will be submitted directly to our Operations staff and into Que.

We can then create a work order, track it, and respond back to you on progress. If you report on an asset that the City does not own (like in the case of this streetlight in front of John’s house), we will notify the proper agency of your request and provide them your contact information.
