Calif. climate change bill could set global example

When Gov. Jerry Brown visits the Vatican this week for an international conference, he’ll be carrying a resolution from state lawmakers supporting Pope Francis’ recent encyclical on climate change.
He’s hoping the Legislature will send an even stronger message later this year by passing new environmental rules aimed at helping California slash greenhouse-gas emissions over the next few decades.
Approval of the legislation, intended to enact goals outlined by the governor this year, would bolster Brown’s calls for global action on climate change with a display of regulatory muscle in his own state.
Oil companies have ramped up opposition, and utilities are angling for changes in the bill that would make it easier for them to fulfill requirements to produce renewable energy. But so far, no one has been able to stop the legislation, which has passed the state Senate and is advancing in the Assembly.

Getting back to climate change. Even the major fossil fuels companies admit climate change is happening; have known for decades.
Homo Sapiens have given way to much money to the fossil fuels industry over the past century. Imagine if just the subsidies had gone into Solar Panel/Cell research and development. Instead, we get fracking.
Interesting how the deniers have moved away from any mention of the science and resort to hurling insults and accusations.

The really stupid thing to do would be to ignore science showing that climate change is a daily and normal event as are droughts and go after the major sources of energy with new taxes and regulations that will do little on a world wide scale except increase the cost to consumers here. Increasing the cost is what this state does that drives out people and business and by being an illegal sanctuary state for criminal aliens, it brings in growing poverty rates and huge numbers of illegals who are on crime sprees everywhere. Then there are the growing welfare burdens and billions of unfunded state liabilities causing a mass exodus of people leaving the wealthy and the poor in a new two class system and the politicians are making sure they and their gated mansions will not be affected. This failing state is the example of the new liberal failure called utopia. The other ninety percent of the country rejects it and will defeat it.
If Climate Change doesn’t exist, can one of you tell me why that hot bed of liberal thought, the Pentagon, calls it an immediate threat to US security and is making plans to adapt to it?

Daily climate change is when the sun goes down it cools and when it rises it warms, a simple concept. The truth is that millions illegally in the country are the biggest threat to the environment and are not only causing crime and filling the prisons, they are using the resources of the country and the limited environmental resources like water and power and food and undercutting legitimate employment and wages and this can counter the few left that are still working and paying taxes by requiring ever more tax dollars as poverty climbs by adding them to the broke system and this takes more and more of every dollar and this added to the risk of so many out of the work force puts all at risk. The social and environmental damage is as much or more of a risk than the sun cycles are currently as much as anything outside of the asteroid risk and until the next ice age which may be soon.
