DRI seeks opportunities to boost snowpack

As the dry weather pattern continues in Northern Nevada, scientists at the Desert Research Institute are keeping their eyes on the skies and watching for any and all opportunities to help turn things around.

So far, they’ve used their equipment along the crest of the Sierra for about 68 hours this season.

Climatologists say that while they have no evidence that winter will stay dry, they also don’t have any evidence it will turn around.

Maybe if these “scientists” would stop screwing around trying to change the weather, we wouldn’t have a drought! Just saying’.

    Please elaborate.

Duke: Anyone with the brain of a fish can realize that these “scientists,” working in conjunction with our government, are trying to control the weather. Between cloud seeding and heating the atmosphere with microwaves to push clouds around, it seems quite possible that they are messing up the normal patterns of nature, causing droughts and extreme weather.

Duke: It seems obvious that these “scientists,” working in conjunction with our government, are trying to control the weather. Between cloud seeding and heating the atmosphere with microwaves to move nano particles around, it seems quite possible that they are messing up the normal patterns of nature, causing droughts and extreme weather.

How do we find out about cloud seeding, chem trails and the like. From an official site not conspiracy theorists. Just would really like to know the truth about chem trails and seeding. It seems that just before a potential storm the Sierra crest is riddled with trails, chem trails?? Or just higher moisture in atmosphere and more visible vapor from the wings off jets. teach us?????

Hey Curious, yes. Cloud seeding is real. Normal trails from planes dissipate quickly behind the plane. These trails we see that seem to go from horizon to horizon, last for hours, and turn into clouds, are clearly not normal. Also, when they cloud seed, they like to fly in big x’s, which allows them to track where the clouds that they made go to. It is usually really easy to tell chem trails from regular contrails. This is kind of a conspiracy theory, but some people say that they are now putting chem trails in the sky in kids’ cartoons to make kids think it is normal. But they seem to have pictures to prove it! Just googling “chem trails” will return many credible sources.

Most of these guys seem to think that weather modification is beneficial, but maybe messing with the balance of nature isn’t a good idea…

I like to some peer reviewed science too.

  8. Tahoe says - Posted: January 29, 2015

Slapshot: the point is whether or not cloud seeding and chem trails are real, not what their effect is on the weather. Obviously, since there are wikipedia articles about it and companies advertising it on their websites, there must be something to it. I was merely speculating that it could be contributing to the drought. It seems that whenever people start interfering with nature, bad things happen. As well as the links I posted, there are countless other sources about it. Just google chem trails. As far a peer reviewed science, most studies on it have been mysteriously stopped. Sorry for the confusion. Cheers.

Um… How do we vote on such things?

If we can ban plastic bags, can we ban the release of experimental chemicals in the skies above our homes?

  10. Tahoe says - Posted: January 30, 2015

Unfortunately, we can’t vote on these things. In my opinion, this is a way bigger issue than plastic bags. A study tested snow near Mt. Shasta and found dangerously high levels of aluminum in the snow. Aluminum is a popular material for cloud seeding. Not only are the chemicals used bad for our health, cloud seeding uses a huge amount of energy. Imagine: planes flying in big x’s for hours. And we, the taxpayers, are funding this, as usual.

Tahoe, list the top 5 most common minerals in the crust of the earth.

” but some people say that they are now putting chem trails in the sky in kids’ cartoons to make kids think it is normal.”
That is the dumbest thing I have read in months.
Read it again. Feel that tingle behind your ears? That’s your brain trying to kill its self.
