By Kathryn Reed

A closed session item has been added to the Nov. 4 El Dorado County Board of Supervisors meeting that says “public employee discipline/dismissal/release”.

Terri Daly, chief administrative officer, cleared out her office last week and was not at work today. Supervisors have a limited number of people whom they may hire and fire – CAO, county counsel and department heads.

Neither County Counsel Robyn Drivon nor board Chairwoman Norma Santiago was available for comment.

The Nov. 4 meeting starts at 9am in Placerville.

Daly has come under scrutiny lately because of her handling of financial matters, creating an environment where morale has plummeted, and having the county be labeled “dysfunctional” in the annual grand jury report.

The county has also set two special meeting dates – Nov. 13 and Nov. 21. While formal agendas have not been released for either meeting, the Thursday meeting in part is expected to deal with the Community Development Agency issues that involve Assistant CAO Kim Kerr.

Remember to vote tomorrow and lets get people in that listen to voters and that can remember 4 years later who we the people are.

Vote all liberals out is the first step in protecting this countries borders, language, and culture!

Justice, not sure I understand your post as it pertains to this story about a NON ELECTED employee of the county, let alone in the context of being the fault of some imaginary elected liberal in a county that you yourself have admitted is first and foremost inhabited by a primarily conservative voter base.

Oh, or were you just free associating without any correlation to THIS article?

‘Vote all liberals out is the first step in protecting this countries borders, language, and culture!’

    reeks of xenophobia.

This was in reference to Buck. About voting and what is important to vote for. The appointed CAO may or may not have anything to do with this although the Supervisors do who appoint people to manage the county and are elected to four year terms with a limit of two terms.

If a country doesn’t have borders, language, and culture is it a country?

I like our diverse cultures just fine. But let’s keep the focus on this specific issue and case.

This review has been a long time coming and I look forward to what will probably be a good housecleaning.

@Gaspen….I dunno. As long as we have dark and dirty money in politics politicians will be bought and sold.

Keep up the good work Kae. Maybe the county employees who want & deserve to be there will find some relief from the harassment and toxic work environment. There’s going to have to be a lot of house cleaning to make this county right. I think its been bad for so long, its the norm. Pretty sad. Keep fighting the good fight!

Hmmm: I think you’re right, unfortunately. Politicians usually have their own agenda and dirty money in their back pocket. Never have I experienced such distrust in Government (at all levels) in my life. It’s very unfortunate that no politician is truly interested in the people who voted for them. The current president is the poster child for that.

“Never have I experienced such distrust in Government (at all levels) in my life.”

Well Gaspen then you must have been born after August of 1974.

Bigger: Hardly, but I was young and wide eyed in those days. I thought politicians were on our side. Reality has set in now.

How little many understand that the crooked pol is Joe Harn. A very well know bully that was unhappy when he was called out as the biggest bully in the county government. He has now ran off two of his detractors and I know of two other top officials on the way out because of him. Be sure you understand how YOUR Supervisor candidates feel and be sure to vote for the one that WILL NOT accept a hostile workplace even if it is coming from one of the highest ranking elected in the county.

According to another article on this news source, Terri Daly is not a politician, she is an independent contractor on a 3 month by 3 month contract.

As far as grand jury reports are concerned. Our City of South Lake Tahoe was under a grand jury investigation in 2009 – 2010 (from another news source) highlights:

“Constant hostility and bickering among members of the City Council”

“Council members and senior staff are unwilling or afraid to address and deal with the existing hostile work environment.”

“The City Manager used intimidation to retain control over parts of government.”

“The City of South Lake Tahoe has a ‘bush league’ City Council.”

“Prior to being interviewed by the Grand Jury, some employees were counseled by the City Attorney on how to testify.”

“The City’s government employs a notable number of married couples and family members among its employees, commission members, and elected officials.”

For those who don’t know or can’t remember, Daly was appointed as CAO by a board long gone that included such corrupt clowns as Nutting and Knight in spite of her bad background in Amador County and the Supervisors were warned of what she did there before she was appointed. People from Amador traveled to P-ville to tell them what she did there and they warned what she would do here, imagine how they are laughing now. The Stuporvisors ignored it and now the result is clear. She also brought in her cronies who have to be seen in the same light and removed.
