Woman accused of DUI near school

A South Lake Tahoe woman was taken into custody Oct. 14 after allegedly hitting two vehicles was under the influence of alcohol.

Alejandra Lopez, 22, was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, hit and run, and assault with a deadly weapon, which was her vehicle.

The incident started near South Tahoe Middle School on Tuesday.

Police Lt. David Stevenson told Lake Tahoe News one of the victims followed the suspect until officers stopped her on Pioneer Trail just west of Golden Bear Trail.

No one was injured.
