Brown touts decades of water policy experience

By Melanie Mason, Los Angeles Times

Gov. Jerry Brown pitched his decades-long political career as an asset in tackling California’s vexing water problems in a speech at Stanford University on Monday, portraying this year’s major water legislation as a continuation of his first gubernatorial term nearly 40 years ago.

Amid the state’s crippling drought, water was a top policy priority this year, including the crafting of a $7.5 billion water bond now on the ballot as Proposition 1. Brown and lawmakers also pushed through the first statewide groundwater regulation law in California’s history, an accomplishment Brown called “quite heroic.”

Noting he began work on groundwater back in 1978, Brown said “this is not something for a flash in the pan. This is not just for a one-term governor. This is really the work of a four-term governor.”

Brown laid out a number of steps of his administration’s Water Action Plan, which includes water conservation, ecosystem restoration and fixing the San Joaquin-Sacramento River Delta.

People should vote against anything this hook-beaked senile old liberal proposes. He is trying for another giant rip off of the tax payers who haven’t left the state yet. What will his type do when they all leave? Declare a disaster? Try to join Mexico in some new third world country? This election is time to get back to reality that government produces nothing and too much theft from tax payers and a lawless welfare state mentality stealing money from ever fewer tax payers will implode at some point. National Course-Correction and defeat of liberals time is here.

Yes, a senile old goat that needs a pasture to graze in. He will tax the crap out of all Cali-lib-Mexico residents. Little do all the illegals know. But then again, THEY slip through the cracks while LEGAL people have to pay and pay. He needs to go but the blind lib sheep will vote him in again. Yes, WHY try and change something??? When you can be a lamb and let someone else ruin the state even more.

Justice and Gaspen, say what you will, but Governor Brown is arguably the best governor the State of California has ever seen.

And I guarantee you that when he wins in what will possibly be a twenty point margin there will be quite a few informed, intelligent conservative voters (of which you two would never be accused of falling into THAT category!) who will vote for him.

But good luck with your agenda to rid the world of free thinkers who have and continue to make not just this nation, but the world a better place to live.

Bigger: You wouldn’t know a free thought if you had one. By all means stay on your idiot train of liberal sheep headed-ness. Moonbutt is NOT good for this state but all you libs seems to think so. This is exactly why Cali is the joke of the nation. You must be proud. Moron. Your kind are typical of why this state is in turmoil.

Gaspen, I am quite proud to be both a native born Californian AND a free thinking liberal!

And you generalizing all liberals as morons just shows your own closed minded ignorance as it pertains to the real world.

  6. Gaspen Aspen says - Posted: October 22, 2014

Bigger: I am a Cal native but don’t follow your lib sheep ideas. You are free thinking but don’t accept any other thinking but your own. Yes, you are a true, ignorant lib. If you can’t see what is happening….you deserve what you get. You bore me. I am finished with you. Back to your bubble…..boy.

I am a conservative myself and shall be voting for moonbeam, I like the way he has controlled his own party by not allowing them to increase programs instead he wants to work on lowering the states debt. Though I don’t agree with him on the bullet train.

  8. Biggerpicture says - Posted: October 22, 2014

Reloman I appreciate your candor and honesty!

  9. Gaspen Aspen says - Posted: October 22, 2014

He’s lowering the debt by taxing you to death, and yes, the bullet train is a lunatics dream. How can you be a conservative and vote for Moonbutt?!?!

    YAWN……….

As usual, Justice and Gaspen are just on their pointless opinionated rants.

The voters of California Passed Prop 30 to raise taxes on the wealthy.

Prop 1 passed the California House and Senate with only 2 no votes.

Governor Jerry Brown is a breath of fresh air compared to Arnold.

  12. Justice says - Posted: October 22, 2014

Despite Moonbeam’s tax to prosperity mirage that ends when enough leave, and the lawless welfare-felon no borders state, this country is going to make a right hand turn really quick.

The few liberal coastal states should be annexed to a country of their choice by a vote of the other states so the rest of the Union is safe from them. They are only a few states but they are 100% of the problem and their votes are not representative of the 90% of the rest of the country.

Justice is delusional, needs meds asap…

  14. Justice says - Posted: October 22, 2014

Can’t Figure, is one of the 10% against the 90% but not smart enough to know it. The country is making a right turn as incompetence and deliberate malfeasance by the Bummer-Holder gang is so obvious there are very few that can’t see it but GF is claiming to be one of them. I don’t think new glasses will work.
