Tahoe man receives statewide award
Scott Gabler was awarded the California Volunteer of the Year award by the governor.
Gabler is the South Lake Tahoe search and rescue program volunteer manager for the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
In 2012 the local SAR team responded to 94 incidents. Out of those calls, Gabler responded to 86, making his deployment participation level at 91 percent.
This award recognized the excellence in the field of service and volunteering.
