The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District is planning on conducting a prescribed burn Oct. 17-18, depending on proper weather conditions and fuel moisture content.

The 23-acre prescribed burn will be in Mill Creek drainage area off of Highway 28.

Smoke resulting from the prescribed burns will affect the surrounding area for approximately 24 to 36 hours. People who are smoke sensitive are advised to stay inside and close their windows and doors as much as possible until the smoke dissipates.
