“Race to Nowhere” will be shown at Lake Tahoe Community College in South Lake Tahoe on Jan. 7-8 at 6:30pm.

The film focuses on the saturation point many students, teachers, and parents have reached in the high-stakes, high pressure culture of the current educational system. It highlights the mounting pressures and stresses children experience — from elementary school through high school — in an effort to gain admission to top colleges.

The film is rated PG-13 and runs 1 hour, 25 minutes.

The first showing is sold-out. To reserve a seat to the free show, call (775) 750.0742.

Following both showings there will be a discussion led by Heidi Hill Drum of the Center for Collaborative Policy at CSU Sacramento.
