The economy in the Sierra region remains poor or very poor, say 62 percent of the 689 business owners and managers who responded to a mid-year survey by the Center for Regional Studies in the University of Nevada, Reno College of Business.
Less than a quarter of them expect improvement by year-end. Six months ago, about 65 percent of survey respondents said the economy was in bad shape.
Our financial situation changed with the economy. We have done a few things which include cutting back. As part of our cut backs, I’ve cut back on where I spend my money. I’m working more to Keep Tahoe Local (interesting both stories ran today). I am choosing to keep more of my shopping here in town so that the tax dollars stay here. I think it’s important and I think it’s something more of us should do. Sometimes people say it won’t make a difference; I think every little bit helps. Let’s all work more to Keep Tahoe Local.
