Mountain Oyster Festival in Virginia City. The popular gourmet event also known as the “Testicle Festival†is March 13. Nearly a dozen nutty cookers compete for the tastiest ways of preparing the little delicacies. But no matter how they’re cooked or the creative ingredients called for in the recipe, they’re still sheep’s testicles. The food stands open for sales at about noon. Get there early because vendors have been known to sell out of the little critters in about an hour.
