Three 200-pound 1-year-old bears whose mother had them on a path to trouble were given a chance at a new start Wednesday.
Biologists and volunteers hauled the triplet male black bears, snoring in drug-induced slumber, with snowmobiles and sled from the Spooner Lake cross-country ski area to artificial dens installed atop the spine of the Carson Range, not far from a frozen Marlette Lake.
