Winners: 1. Jacqueline Mittelstadt who fought for her job and in doing so showed she has the right stuff to serve the citizens of South Lake Tahoe. 2. The citizens of South Lake Tahoe who get a city attorney that will fight for what is right, no matter what the political pressure from the city manager or city council. Losers: 1. The City Manager who tried as he might to get Mittelstadt fired because he could not control her. 2. Council Members Cole, Lovell and Grego who bought into the city managers story but had to back down because the facts which Mittelstadt's attorney was prepared to present would have embarrassed them and who voted at every turn for doing discussing this issue behind closed doors instead of the light of day as Mittelstadt requested. 3. The City Attorney Patrick Enright who somehow avoided the same situation as Mittelstadt and was more concerned with saving his own skin and in doing so has lost the moral authority of the position.
